Questions Families Ask
There are no wrong questions at a time like this. These are the ones families ask us most — answered the same way Dr. Isaac would answer them in your living room.
1. Will it hurt my pet?
No. The first injection is a sedative and pain medication that lets your pet drift into a deep, peaceful sleep. Once they're fully asleep, a second medication gently allows their body to shut down. The only thing your pet feels is a small pinch.
2. How long does the appointment take?
Plan on 30 to 45 minutes — but honestly, as long as your family needs. We never rush.
3. Can our other pets be present?
Yes, if you'd like. Many families find it helps their other pets understand. You decide what feels right.
4. Can our children be there?
That's a deeply personal decision, and there's no wrong answer. We're happy to talk it through with you before the appointment.
5. Where does the appointment happen?
Wherever your pet is most comfortable — their bed, the sofa, the backyard. We've helped families say goodbye at the beach at sunrise. This is your pet's moment, in your pet's place.
6. What happens afterward?
If you've chosen cremation, we gently carry your pet to our vehicle — wrapped with care, never rushed. If you've chosen home burial, we'll help you prepare. Nothing happens until your family is ready.
7. When will we receive the ashes?
Our crematory partner contacts you directly the moment your pet's ashes are ready. Questions in the meantime? You can always reach out to us.
8. How do I know it's the right time?
The hardest question in this work. The short answer: there is no perfect day, but there is a kind day, and we can help you find it. Call anytime — there's never a charge to talk.
9. What if it's urgent — can you come today?
Often, yes. Call or text 904-372-3257 and we'll tell you honestly what's possible. If I'm available and your fur baby needs help, I will come.
10. What does it cost?
Our visit is $390 plus a travel fee quoted exactly when you call. Every price — cremation, paw prints, everything — is listed on our Pricing page.
